Parking:
There is ample 2-hour metered parking available on 5th Avenue, one block away. Parking during daytime hours on 19th Street is hit or miss.
Bicycling:
You may lock your bike to the front stoop or you may bring it inside (up one flight of stairs). I am an avid bike commuter myself, below are the routes I’ve ridden and found to be the best.
Cycling Routes:
From Cobble Hill, Brooklyn Heights, Columbia Heights, Red Hook areas:
Get to 3rd Avenue from the closest bridge to you: Union Street Bridge, 3rd Street Bridge, or 9th Street Bridge. Take 3rd Avenue South towards Sunset Park. Turn left on 14th Street to 4th Avenue, then right onto 4th Ave. Dismount at the corner of 19th Street, and walk to the first townhouse on your right. (note: 3rd Ave has a bike lane, 4th Ave does not).
From Prospect Heights, Park Slope, Clinton Hill:
Get to 5th Avenue South and take the bike lane to 18th Street. Turn right to 4th Ave, then left to 19th Street. Dismount at the corner of 19th Street, and walk to the first townhouse on your right.
From Greenwood Heights, Sunset Park:
Take either 5th or 4th Ave to 19th Street. Dismount at the corner, cross 19th Street and go to the first townhouse on the right side of 19th street (opposite Paul Sign’s company).
Subway:
R Train to Prospect Avenue (closest stop, 2 blocks away)
F Train to 4th Ave/9th Street (half mile walk or transfer here to the R train towards Bay Ridge – one stop to Prospect Ave).
Bus:
B63 5th Avenue Bus
B37 3rd Avenue Bus
